1. Purchasing Season:
Harvesting Time: April to September 15th.
The Ganoderma Applanatum will dry better if harvested during April to September time frame. This will also prevent it from growing mold.
Purchasing Time: June to October 1st.
*it is easier to locate the Ganoderma Applanatum when the leaves have fallen.

2. Drying Process:
To dry Ganoderma Applanatum, turn bottom side toward the sun for 5 - 6 hours. Then, move to shady place with good ventilation and use a fan to dry them with the white side(underside) facing up.
Please keep it away from rain when drying outside.
If you acquired them in winter, please dry them indoor in a 70˚F and well ventilated area. This way, we can prevent it from growing mold. Use a fan to dry them with the white side(underside) facing up
Drying process will take 15–20 days in summer, and 20 -30 days in the fall.

The underneath is milky white
The surface of of the Ganoderma Applanatum must be smooth without defects and without borer damages. The photos below show the defects on the surface. They are unacceptable for purchase.
When harvesting the Ganoderma Applanatum from a tree, please be sure to leave about 1/4" of the Ganoderma Applanatum on the tree. This will allow them to regrow. Please check the inside layers of the Ganoderma Applanatum to make sure all the layers are coffee brown color.
Ganoderma Applanatum must have at least 3 layers and the inside layers must be all coffee brown color.
Ganoderma Applanatum with at least 4 layers and all coffee brown color is considered high quality.
Ganoderma Applanatum with at least 6 layers and all coffee brown color is considered excellent quality.
NOTE: The pictures below show the inside color with white layers. The white layers means the Ganoderma is lacking the active ingredients. It doesn’t contain any good value. We DO NOT buy them with white layers.
All Ganoderma Applanatum must be from the current season. If the Ganoderma Applanatum is from last year, the quality will not be as good and might have mold and bugs inside.
The pictures below show the Flecked Flesh Polypore. We do not buy them, they are not the Ganoderma Applanatum we purchase.
